Mechanical Engineering is one of the major activities in the engineering profession and its principles are involved in the design, study, development and construction of nearly all of the physical devices and systems. Continued research and development have led to better machines and processes helping the mankind.

The department of mechanical engineering was started in the year 2010, the department is offering B.E in Mechanical Engineering with an intake of 60 students. The students of this course are taken through all the fundamental concepts of mechanical engineering such as, thermal science and engineering, manufacturing engineering, metallurgical engineering, towards cutting edge technologies like computational fluid mechanics, computer aided manufacturing, computer aided design, metrology and measurements, statistical techniques in modern manufacturing, finite element analysis & methods, industrial heat transfer, design of machine elements, design of transmission system, kinematics & dynamics of machine and production and operations management systems, etc. The department posses good mixture of faculty members from various disciplines such as thermal science, energy engineering, manufacturing technology, industrial engineering, design engineering etc. The department frequently organizes national and international level symposiums, conferences and seminars. Students are permitted to go for industrial visit and industrial project, so that they get exposure to industrial organizations. Apart from regular curriculum, the department arranges guest lectures, carrier and personality development programs that help the student to be competent and ethical professional in engineering & technology.
